A free interactive classroom
science presentation for pre-school through sixth grade students.
The
Goals:
-
To encourage awareness and appreciation
for the value of trees and forests in our daily lives; and
-
To encourage an understanding
about the protection, management and conservation of the renewable forest.
The Program:
-
This unique program is aimed
at pre-school through sixth grade students. The program gives an
overview of forest ecology, management practices and forest product use.
Trained facilitators bring to
your classroom a presentation and hands-on activities to enhance learning.
The theme of the presentation focuses on the biological processes of trees
and forests. Topics discussed include:

Program Modules to enhance and expand students learning and experience.

Papermaking Module: Learn
the history of paper, the many uses of paper, importance of recycling and
finally make your own paper. (1-2 Photos and some graphics of paper use
(textbooks, tickets, paper plates, boxes, etc.)

Outdoor Module: Take the
students to the outdoor classroom and experience first hand tree identification
and much more.
